Horseback riding in a nearby ranch

Surfing lessons

Costa Rica is well known as a surfing destination and its time to experience it yourself. Take a 2-hour surfing lesson in Playa Carmen or Playa Hermosa with our certified staff. We welcome lessons for all ages and levels to join us. We will provide rash guards, boards, leashes and transportation. All you need is your suit and some sun block! A maximum of four people to one surf instructor per lesson.

Montezuma Waterfall

Depart from Hotel Nantipa: 8:00 a.m or 3:00 p.m.
Duration: 3 hours.

We recommend: Swimsuit, sunglasses with straps, closed toed shoes (water shoes preferable), mosquito repellent, sunscreen.

This canopy consists of a series of 9 cables, 13 platforms that are suspended high above the forest floor. The tour allows the opportunity to see a number of plants and animals unique to the area, including possibly howler and white-faced monkeys, parrots, iguanas and much more. The adventure includes a visit to the famous Montezuma waterfalls, where you will be able to enjoy the views or go for a swim in the pools carved by the cascading waters.

National Park

Part of the Tempisque Conservation Area, the Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve was created in 1963 by the Scandinavian couple Olof Wessberg and Karen Morgenson. The first major project of conservation in Costa Rica, this reserve came into force to protect the area from the deforestation that took place around the Peninsula of Nicoya in the 1950’s.

Curú is the first Wildlife Refuge established in Costa Rica, in the year 1983. This farm style refuge combines a sustainable use of land, so wildlife and humans can interact in the same space. The different ecosystems found in Curú, give this area a variety of species that are generally easy to spot along the trails. Varied wildlife in the Reserve will allow the opportunity to possibly see hauler monkeys, white face monkeys, a wide variety of birds, agoutis and other animals. Perfect for those who enjoy bird watching and love nature.

Canopy Tour

Surrounded by Cabo Blanco National Park, set in the quiet Village of Mal País, this Canopy tour is just 10-15 minutes away from Santa Teresa. The canopy Malpais has the best ocean views, diverse wildlife and over 200 trees lining the tropical forest. The exciting canopy ride is nearly a mile long including 11 platforms and 8 cables, the longest of which spans for 500 meters (800 feet), a suspension bridge, tarzan swing and the first canopy with a surfboard in this area. An unforgettable experience for all ages!

Tour to Tortuga Island

The boat ride from shore to the Island will take about 45 minutes, ride along the coast enjoying the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Nicoya Península. During the boat ride, you may encounter cheerfully dolphins, jumping manta rays, primitive turtles and in some cases while in season humpback & pilot whales. Upon arrival at Tortuga Island, enjoy time snorkeling in the volcanic rock reef surrounded by crystalline waters, home of Angelfish, Porcupine fish, Spotted Eagle Rays among other tropical species.

Artisan Fishing with the locals

Departure from Hotel Nantipa: 7:00 a.m.
Includes: Fishing equipment, beverages, fruit, sandwiches, Captain guide.

Once in deep sea, trolling anglers will have a shot to catch Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo. Inshore fishing is done around rocks, reefs, river mouths and estuaries and anglers catch Roosterfish, Tuna, Snapper, Jacks, Mackerel, Snook and more, jigging or trolling. Live this experience with a local Captain, who will share his local expertise and show you some of Nicoya’s fishing traditions. We practice catch-andrelease named-sport, to preserve the treasure of marine species that are found in these pristine waters.
